An All-Season Village-to-Alpine Hiking Experience in Metsovo, Greece

Start your hike from the traditional stone-built square of Metsovo and discover one of the most accessible and beautiful alpine routes in the region. This guided hiking tour is available all year round (weather permitting) and offers a unique blend of cultural and natural beauty, ideal for those seeking a short yet fulfilling mountain experience.

We begin our walk through the cobbled streets of Metsovo and follow a scenic route for about 1 km until we enter the forest trail. From there, we gradually ascend to the Karakoli point — the highest altitude of the route (1,450 m). After a short break at the top to enjoy the panoramic view of the alpine landscape, we make our way back to the village.

Once back in Metsovo, you can optionally extend your experience with a visit to the Averof Winery — the highest-altitude winery in Greece. The day can also include stops at the Metsovo Art Gallery and the Folklore Museum, as well as time for coffee, soft drinks, or a traditional lunch.

Embark on a journey through one of Zagori’s most iconic hiking routes, starting from the picturesque village of Kapesovo. This all-season guided hike takes you up the historic Vradeto Steps — a masterpiece of traditional stone craftsmanship — and rewards you with panoramic views from the Beloi viewpoint, considered the finest balcony over Vikos Gorge.

We begin our adventure from the stone alleys of Kapesovo and head toward the legendary Vradeto Steps. Climbing 1.200 steps and navigating 39 sharp turns, we ascend gradually through stunning mountain landscapes. The effort is rewarded with a stop at Beloi, a natural balcony offering awe-inspiring views of the deepest gorge in the world, Vikos.

On our return to Kapesovo, we can pause for a refreshing drink or coffee at a local café, soaking in the charm of this remote mountain village.

For those looking for a challenge, we offer the full 25 km round trip back to Monodendri — an intense yet rewarding experience that lasts up to 15 hours. Alternatively, hikers can choose a shorter 8 km round route to experience the magic of the gorge without committing to a full-day trek.
