We begin our walk through the cobbled streets of Metsovo and follow a scenic route for about 1 km until we enter the forest trail. From there, we gradually ascend to the Karakoli point — the highest altitude of the route (1,450 m). After a short break at the top to enjoy the panoramic view of the alpine landscape, we make our way back to the village.
Once back in Metsovo, you can optionally extend your experience with a visit to the Averof Winery — the highest-altitude winery in Greece. The day can also include stops at the Metsovo Art Gallery and the Folklore Museum, as well as time for coffee, soft drinks, or a traditional lunch.
